At BSFIS our curriculum for the Primary section is designed to develop a penchant for learning, discovering, and thinking in the foundational years of schooling. We incorporate experiential learning through field trips, hands-on projects, teamwork, experiments and presentations. Skills which are emphasised during this stage are:
At BSFIS, English is taught as a first language. Learners develop skills and understanding in four areas- reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Learners develop a holistic understanding of the subject by focusing on principles, patterns, systems, functions, and relationships.
Learners develop to think scientifically, gain practical knowledge and seek explanations for phenomena around them.
Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives encourages empathy for the diversity present across the globe concerning nature and the human race.
Learners are sensitized about history, civics, and geography in an interactive way with stories and drama.
Learners are introduced to Hindi, elementary Marathi and Sanskrit languages. French is introduced in Grade 4 enabling them to open up to various cultures.
Cambridge ICT Starters is a series of modules assessing candidates on their ability to use various computer software to communicate, model and give solutions.

Considering the growing need to learn the skills of coding and artificial intelligence, STEM education is also an integral part of the curriculum and the programme is conducted by i-robokids. Coding as a multi-disciplinary skill strengthens critical thinking, develops better logical, computational and analytical thinking and enhances problem-solving abilities.
These sessions are idiosyncratic to the BSFIS vision of bringing an interdisciplinary approach to children of all ages. Once every week we conduct these sessions which build different skill sets from fine motor skills like sewing to creative skills like cooking. Enrichment sessions develop visual, aesthetic, social and emotional intelligence.
To bring out the best in a child while realizing his or her potential as a unique individual
To nurture the child in all dimensions of his or her life- cognitive, creative, spiritual, moral, aesthetic, emotional, social and physical
To enable the child to develop as a social being while learning to contribute to society.
To emphasise activity and discovery methods with the importance of environment-based learning.
To prepare the child for further education and lifelong learning as he/she enjoys childhood.
