At BSFIS our curriculum for the Primary section is designed to develop a penchant for learning, discovering, and thinking in the foundational years of schooling. We incorporate experiential learning through field trips, hands-on projects, teamwork, experiments and presentations. Skills which are emphasised during this stage are:

Co-curricular Activities


Develops physical strength, team spirit as well as mental discipline.

like table tennis, chess, and badminton- Improves power, agility, reaction, time, balance, speed and coordination by use of all senses.

like basketball, cricket, and football- Improves cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Refines balance and coordination, promotes mindfulness, strengthens the mind-body connection and improves concentration power.

Improves posture, balance, flexibility and coordination and enhances muscle strength and endurance

Develops both fine and gross motor skills, coordination, confidence, and strong academic skills.

Helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

Improves language skills and memory, stimulates the brain and aids in developing social intelligence.

Sparks imagination and creativity and improves communication and diction.

Conducted by Shiamak Davar’s Dance Academy, movement combinations increase memory, order and sequencing skills, and socialisation.

Considering the growing need to learn the skills of coding and artificial intelligence, STEM education is also an integral part of the curriculum and the programme is conducted by i-robokids. Coding as a multi-disciplinary skill strengthens critical thinking, develops better logical, computational and analytical thinking and enhances problem-solving abilities.

These sessions are idiosyncratic to the BSFIS vision of bringing an interdisciplinary approach to children of all ages. Once every week we conduct these sessions which build different skill sets from fine motor skills like sewing to creative skills like cooking. Enrichment sessions develop visual, aesthetic, social and emotional intelligence.
